Washied Jute Garland.

So what do you do when you're bored, your husband is changing the spark plugs on his car, the kids are all busy with friends, and this same said husband has banned you from shopping the after Christmas clearance? You dig around in your craft crap cupboard and see what you can make with what you have on hand!

Two fits and five minutes into the "great dig" later I had at my disposal some jute, some smash booking tape, a pair of scissors, a mug of coffee and a Amazon Prime movie.

Forty-five minutes and two cups of coffee later those same supplies had evolved into this:

Some washied jute garland.
The project couldn't be simpler. I mean, it has to be simple or I couldn't do it!

Directions:
1.  Cut some jute/string/twine the length you want.

2.  Cut a bunch of strips of the tape. (I didn't even make sure they were the same size--I didn't want to stress myself out or anything!)

3.  Keeping them somewhat evenly spaced, fold each strip of tape over the jute and press together. (I was lazy and didn't make sure the tape was dead even--again, I didn't want to stress myself out!)

4.  With your scissors, cut out the "v" notches.

5.  Then when your husband finally ventures into the house and asks you what you're working on you say "making something out of nothing since you won't let me go shopping" and watch him be amazed at your crafting skills!
