Alright, before we dive into anything, tell me, did you get your $1.00 reusable Starbucks cup yet? If not, you really, really need to! Totally worth the buck. Just sayin'.
Then because there's really nothing more important to talk about, I'd HAVE to ask you if you watched Downton Abbey on Sunday night?????
OK.......so moving on........even though there really is no greater topic of conversation right now than Downton Abbey......
I'd make sure to ask you how 2013 is going for you so far? I, myself, am loving it so far. I had made the vow that this year was going to be than last year, that I was going to try new things, take new risks and make some tough-but-good-for-me-decisions, and that I was going to happily embrace each new task, challenge and discipline. Ha! The fool I am! That lame decision landed me committing to going to the women's retreat for the church that we creep on. Which also means I have to participate in a costume party and parade. I'm thinking of maybe feigning cramps that night?! Cuz that (costumes and a parade) is so not me.
Honestly though? So far so good for 2013!
Alright, if we were actually meeting at Starbuck's this morning I would tell you that I downloaded these from eighteen25 as part of my plan for finding things to keep me occupied at home and away from Target as well as part of my plan to get more organized in 2013.
So dang satisfying to see my neatly labeled picture cd's versus a mishmash pile. I feel especially good because now I can start my 2013 picture taking adventures with a somewhat clean and organized slate and maybe even remember to print pictures like this:
or this, this year:
Yep! You see correctly. We've been busting out those skates that I thrift-store scored right before Christmas. All part of my "mean mom '13" goal to get the family moving this year.
Then I'd tell you about this fun new app that I found for the kids' iPods and my iPad. Very cute and very free. I've even played it and I don't get into gadget games. At all. All a part of Marty's goal for 2013 to utilize what we have versus always buying something new.
Then because we are speaking of free apps, I'd ask you if you knew that you can now get Amazon Prime on your iPhone, iTouch and iPad??? I mean, how cool is that, right?!
Finally, because I am always one to share a good recipe when I find one, especially when it's an easy one, I would tell you about this Chicken Alfredo recipe that I found and this Brown Sugar Chicken recipe from the same blog. Yup, I'm still going strong on that eating at home thing. Four weeks and running-- but who's counting!?!
And with that, I need to get moving. A friend has promised to teach me how to sew. She swears she can teach me, I think it's a lost cause; we'll see which one of us is right later on this afternoon!

Wouldn't it be so great to be able to sew an infinity scarf or a burp cloth or something??? My other goal this year it to crochet a dishcloth. Of course I need to learn how to crochet, but...... I just want to be able to say I can do something! Nothing labor intensive, nothing fancy, just SOMETHING so I can say I can do it!
