A Jar And A Doily.
The other night I really needed a mindless activity, so I raided my mason jar collection, hunted high and low for some leftover-from-last-year heart doilies, totally spoiled myself and cracked open a can of Coke, and got to work making this years' doilied jar. (click here for last year's)
The project couldn't be any simpler or cheaper. It really couldn't. I mean we're talking "no money was spent for this project" kind of cheap. And I mean all you have to do is know-how-to-tie-a-knot kind of simple.
Supply List:
a jar
a doily of any shape
a heart punch to punch out the hearts
a scrap piece or two of cardstock
some sort of jute, twine, etc.
some tape or scrapbooking adhesive
To Make:
Place your doily on your jar. So it doesn't shift on you while you're trying to tie your string, keep the doily in place with a small piece of adhesive. Add your hearts, again securing them in place with adhesive. Then grab your jute, wrap it around the jar a couple of times, tie it in a knot in the front, then proudly show your husband and your kids what you made and graciously accept their praise!
So what are you waiting for? Go grab a jar, a doily, some sort of string/yarn/jute/twine, your favorite beverage and get creative!
